Hello, I have been browsing the forums for some weeks and thought it was about time to post!

We are awaiting delivery of two minis - a MCS in MB for me and a Cooper also in MB for my better half (his choice to go for the same colour at the last minute - he has absolutely no interest in cars).

I am returning to Mini having owned an R56 Cooper, promptly followed by an R56 Cooper S which I loved - the latter I traded in for a BMW M135 as an impulse purchase only 14 months ago.. (don't shoot me down..) I have really enjoyed the M135 and would have kept it, however we are no longer able to manage with one car, so I am happily returning to a MINI :) -- have never liked sharing when it comes to the car! I also find that the power is a little wasted on me as I always seem to be stuck in traffic and I think I have missed the MCS and it's personality more than I thought I would.

I used to be a keen follower on a couple of other Mini forums but noticed how quiet things have gotten compared to a couple of years ago - is this because everyone is on Facebook and Twitter instead?

Anyhow, it's great to have somewhere like this as I continue to learn new things about the F56, especially whilst we (I) wait... And I look forward to being able to contribute :)

Thank you to both of you!

Yes MB is the best 'colour' - this will be my third MB Mini.. I do like the other colours, I just worried I would regret not going for black again and need to stick with the car for longer this time around!

The MCS will have almost the exact spec I had on my R56 plus a couple of things - Chili, Media XL, HUD, sunroof, LED lights (wish these were included in Chili like the xenons were before as I would have used the saving on other things!), JCW spoiler, heated seats, anthracite headlining, piano black & satellite grey colour line, Cosmos silver wheels; really wasn't sure about the diamond cloth/leather seats but I am hoping I won't notice them too much when sat in the car...

The Cooper will have Chili, visual boost, heated seats (in case I use his car!), pearl/carbon black seats, black victory spoke alloys - not sure about black wheels on MB, but maybe a more stealth look, and it will look a bit different to the Cooper S (bf choice at the last minute, having expressed no prior interest in the spec for the hours I have spent studying the options lists, on the configurator and in the dealership after he saw a Mini with them whilst at the dealership!).

Ordered them together on 9th October - the sales guy at the dealership told me last week that the MCS has been built already, still awaiting the Cooper. Unfortunately they have never been the kind of dealership that provides regular updates unless I call and ask, so will just wait patiently... In the meantime, trying to have occasional blasts in the M135 before it goes to a new home;)

The forum is great for me.. No one else around me is as enthusiastic! :D

Thank you again for the welcome

Fabulous mini mischief. Like us a two mini family. I'm totally nuts on them, wife not far off! We wouldn't buy any other car at the moment. She dabbled with an evoque but the lincoln dealer was unbelievably ignorant.soper are superb.I do recommend the factory tour if you can get! It'll be really interesting for you to directly compare the two engine s . Lucky you and welcome!

Definitely have to agree Mini- Mischief, Midnight Black is the best colour!

Both of the cars spec sounds just right! The LED's area a must and as for the diamond seats, I think they will grow on you, they are subtle but still rather funky!

Your Cooper spec sounds exactly like mine as well!! Black with black wheels! Have tried to attach a picture of one if this helps :)

So jealous of your time super fast delivery times! I know exactly how you feel about the dealership though. Don't be afraid of just emailing for updates! I have been waiting nearly 6 months now and don't care anymore if they think I'm being annoying by constantly emailing them!

Looking forward to seeing both of your new Minis!! :)

MB - I'm wondering how my MCS has been built in less than a month from ordering?! Thank you for the picture - the Cooper will be his car and given that I have taken over all the other options (ie insisting he even has alloys wheels!), I haven't objected :) The Cooper won't have LEDs - I think it will be ok as it's going to be a car that drives back and forth on the same commute each day. I'm not sure if emailing my dealership will help... I was told last week that I couldn't obtain the VIN until the car was registered?! With my work hours I just haven't had the energy to bother pursuing them - all I've said in response is that it would be nice to collect both the Minis together if possible. I haven't seen many MB Minis on the forum...

JeremyBingham - I really want to go on the factory tour as I have never been. I wish my boyfriend loved Mini/cars in general - he drives a bit like a snail (IMO) - at least he's safe as possible when driving though - especially funny that he taught me to drive years ago! He lets me just carry on with myself when it comes to cars :D
The Mini is more fun than the Evoke I would imagine? We explored other manufacturers for his car when I originally thought of keeping the M135 - I just felt they weren't good value for money. The Cooper seems to get better reviews than the S in places, so it'll be interesting to see how they compare.

I'll make sure we get a little photo-shoot of them together. Bit concerned that I'll end up trying to HD wax both of them in the midst of winter on my own - have been swotting up on Donna's guide too - I wish there was a single protective product out there.. Black is such hard work! :)

Stroke of luck having your MCS that quickly I guess!
You can get your VIN from the moment it enters the production stage. So what your sales rep has told you is a lie unfortunately. If you do find the time to email, all you need is the VIN number so you can check online at http://www.bmwarchive.org/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html and confirm all the options you have selected are there! I so surprised that they haven't mentioned this to you beforehand!

Anyways, you're right, not many MB ones on this forum so welcome to the club! :D
