Txt Messages in my MINI. What's the difference in "Phone" and "Office"?

I finally got my txt messages to show up on my Mini's main screen while driving - I had to go into settings, bluetooth on my iPhone and set it to forward txt messages to my car, but there's still something I don't understand about the car's communications system.

I noticed that I can read my text messages from within the phone section of the Mini's main screen, or the office section.

My motoring advisor said he didn't know why Mini had both phone and office in the main menu if they had the same functions.

Does anybody know whether there's any difference in viewing my messages via phone or via office?

I like this functionality a lot because I don't want to ever pick up my phone while I am driving, and the ability to use txt to speech to read myself an important message while on the road could prove to be very useful.

Could you please exacly tell me how you managed to archive that?

I have an iPhone 6 with latest iOS and I can't get it to work properly lol

Thanks

Settings » Bluetooth » Mini then click on the blue "i" and look for show notifications. Make sure that's turned on.

You don't need to be in your car to set it up as long as your phone was previously paired with the car.

I've gotten so much help on here, I'm just glad I could return the favor!

I have mini cooper D production 2016 with visual boost.
My iphone works for sms text.

Only i dont recieve any tone when a new message arrives. Just see a envelope on top of screen.
Dont understand why there is no notification tone.

Office works but calenar only shows when i use mini connected app and in connected i can see calendar but not in office.

Do you guys also don’t have any notification tone when you recieve new text message?

I don’t get any notification tone, just the envelope. My friends Tesla doesn’t give him any way to read txts so I feel like what I have is pretty good. ;)
