Hi, I own a F56 mini one 09/2014 with Radio Boost (with basic bluetooth option). I've seen that there are some Visual Boost screens that are being sold on internet.
Would it be possible to simply swap my radio boost to the Visual boost (I know that it has to include the keyboard too)? Or the visual boost also needs some other head unit different from the one that my car has installed righy now?
The wiring looms would be different and also the centre console for the i controller would be required, probably not practical and very expensive to do this.
What you find on internet...whom car has been taken from?
Mine? ...his?...or, in the future...yours?
Don't buy on internet this kind of things...you give money to the people that steal them.
In the F56 the head unit is coded to the car. Someone on another forum had to have theirs replaced and it had to be coded for their car and sent from Germany. You might be able to buy the screen online but the head unit is not going to work.
And i am sure the visual boost has the simple controller-not the full media xl one-not sure about the std radio! Might be possible but some coding may well be needed; good luck!
It's possible in the same way that it's possible you can transplant a human head onto a giraffe. Probably a way to do it, but no one has figured it out yet and it would be very complicated. Plus, why risk the giraffe?
