What are the maximum sizes of drive people have successfully tested for mp3 / mp4 playback?

Has anyone reached a limit where playback / searching is too slow or laggy?

I wanted to use a 128gb stick, has anyone any experience of a drive this size and the media XL head unit?

There's another thread about this...if you look at the bottom of the page, in associated threads...seems like 128 is slower, but does work
