If I had taken a photo, it would be easier to describe, but here's my question. I bought some used mini wheel locks. The "squiggly" shaped key part looked fine, but its circular backing had a series of V checks in it. I returned them thinking this was from over-torqueing. Am I correct, or is that what it should look like?

Give them back. Buy new ones if you believe you need them.
