Would it?

Dang.... it's been a while for me, I guess.
Same here - I last had one in around 1992. But I recall that the indicator stalk was on the right, which is the bet place for a RHD manual transmission car as you could be indicating at the same time as shifting. Japanese cars were often the same (my Honda CRX for example) but most have now standardised on the left.

Now you've got me wondering which car it was that had its horn on the indicator stalk on the left. I remember it well because whenever I'd beep at someone in anger, I'd end up indicating a right turn at the same time.

Hmmmmmm.....

Oh you just press the button on the indicator stalk (which on a REAL Mini would have been the horn) until the display shows % of charge. You'll need to scroll through a couple other things first though. It's basically scrolling through the various bits of information the trip computer will display and stopping at % of charge
Oh, I thought you meant the GOM at top right. I would absolutely love to change that one.

You know what... I just now- right now, I'm posting this from in the car- realised that there's a GOM there as well.

There's so much going on in this car, I think I need to spend some time in my Suzuki Stockman, just to get my bearings.

Man I was thinking the same thing and was flipping out that there would be a way to change it after all!

Thanks for clearing that up. You had gotten quite a few of us excited!

Sorry guys........ newbie with a complicated car.

I think it would help explain things if I told you my OTHER car has an instrument binnacle like this:-

... and I'm struggling a bit with the information overflow coming off the Mini.

On a really real Mini the horn was a large button in the centre of the steering wheel, the indicator stalk was on the right with a flashing green light on the end of it, and headlight high/low was a left foot operated switch on the floor...

Just showing my age, my first one was a 1959 Mk1

NB: I switched back on to take the pic, it defaults to Sport; the drive was in Green. And no, I reaaaally don’t ever normally let it get that low.
I've hit the "---" wall with my SE once, and those last few km to my garage were very anxious. The closest I've let it get since is just a hair under 10km range remaining.

Ok, @DarthDude — just so you can relax, here is today’s trip. Setup: started with a full charge; overcast skies but dry roads; temperature at departure was 3°C (pretty sure that’s never going to be an issue in Malaysia!), rising to 5°C by the end of the trip; Mode set to Green for the whole drive, while climate control set to Auto at 20°C; the MINI is wearing beefy Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5 winter tires (195/55R16) at the recommended 38/35 psi; and the drive was a roughly 1:1:1 mix of motorway (120+ km/h), two-lane country roads (50-80 km/h), and suburban streets with stop-and-go traffic (at up to 60 km/h).

Here is the output from GvilleGuy’s efficiency calculator:

Mar 21, 2023 at 14:59
5 °C
Wind: 15.83 km/h from W
Humidity: 61%
Driven: 171 Km
Start-Batt: 100%
End-Batt: 10%
Km / kWh: 6.57
GOM Reading: 14 KM
Calculated Range Left: 18.99 Km
Total Range (From 100% charge): 189.99 Km

Note the the EPA/NRCan estimated range for the 2023 SE in North America is 183 km under ideal normal conditions, in mild weather on efficient summer tires. I suspect with your comparatively smooth roads and balmy weather (I was last in KL perhaps five years ago), that you should easily match (and surpass) my winter numbers. 👍🏼🙂

Citröen XM!!

That's the one! Indicator on the left stalk with the horn at the tip.

Wow.... that one kept me awake a few nights, I can tell you, although how I could have ever confused that barge with a Mini will probably keep me awake a few more.

Well I've had mine a month now and the lowest I've ever been is that day's 20% so ok..... if it'll go down to "---" and still be driveable then I shouldn't go anywhere near the lower limit on this car... which is a relief, because running out of petrol is an easy fix but running out of juice in one of these cars midway through a trip will be a whole different level of headache. I've had some very unhelpful advice from friends (who I have decided are just jealous) regarding stowing a Honda generator in the boot which I won't bother to repeat here.

I can't tell you how much confidence this gives me @SameGuy and yes, since the Mini is a dedicated city runabout for the Mrs and me I think I can firmly put all range worries behind me once and for all..... oh... and I spent the last couple days downloading every single EV Charging app could find.
