I am thinking of getting the heated windscreen, but question came up:

Just wondering if the "windshield washer nozzle" and the rest of the waterworks are heated?

I remember that, 14 years ago :) , after scraping my windscreen I could not spray the windows as everything was frozen.

Got heated windscreen on my fiesta and have found no need for washers when using heated windscreen, so shouldn't matter if rest of waterworks or washer noozle is heated. Point of interest dealer told me if you have got the auto windscreen wipers, switch off in winter as they can freeze to windscreen and when you start it can damage the motor leaving a £200 bill for new wiper motor.

Fortunately, the Auto-Wiper function on a MINI is not enabled unless switched on by the driver after the car is started... it cannot be left in the 'switched-on' state and I'd be very surprised if any manufacturer offered an 'always on' setting.

Should anyone be daft enough to use a mechanical car wash... then yes, make sure your wipers are turned off first !!!

Another tip....treat your windows with GTechniq G1 Smart Glass ...it gives your window a coating that helps bead rain ...in the winter frost can't adhere to the glass. Windows appear frozen but literally a swipe with your hand and the ice is off......

Seconded - makes a good deal of difference in the frost.

I just get in and almost drive off straight away whilst the neighbours keep scraping away on their cars:D

@JJH - My Ford S-Max - auto wipe is always on.

Thanks for the replies!
OK - I stand corrected... which only goes to prove that Ford could learn something from studying MINI !!

Regarding the auto-wipers on the F56 model - I really like that there's now a little LED to show when they're switched on (plus the initial wipe) and a physical control to adjust the sensitivity (which was buried in the complex menu system of the previous model).
