Ive got a service book and handbook but no wallet for them

 

I had Owner's giude and "MINI Dealer Warranty and Emergency Service Handbook" in the glove compartment. No wallet.

It's not a traditional service book with spaces for garage stamps... it's more like warranty details and the terms and conditions for MINI emergency service (breakdown cover).

 

I only have an owners guide which was loose in the boot. No service record anymore, its all done electronically.

 

Yep welcome to the digital age. Even the handbook is on my car and no service book.it is recorded on the key!

Received a paper handbook but without a nice leather effect wallet to put it in.
Straight to ebay and purchased a MINI wallet to keep my stuff in.

Next stop Apple app store where I downloaded the official MINI handbook app which is tailored to your car/model when you input your VIN.

Next stop, spent some time in the car reading and playing with the built in car handbook in the media.

Still don't know how everything works but enjoying discovering!

 

Picked up Cooper S yesterday and found my handbook loose in the boot And no service book!
Rang dealer asking were the wallet was for the handbook and service book and was told the R56 does not come with a Handbook (despite there being one in the boot) or Service book.

So does anyone have a wallet in THEIR R56 with a service book or Handbook.

I have a rip-stop fabric wallet and handbook/manual with service record book and tire warrantee doc. with dvd for something (I haven't looked at it yet.) Plus most of the info is right there on the screen in the VO-S.

Also handbook only, no service book...my mini rep did say it was all recorded on the electronic vehicle info file in the car itself

 

MINI don't supply a folder for documentation any more. A little sad that they cut back on something so small on a premium product. The service records are now stored in the car an on the central system which explains the lack of a service record book. fortunately I had two folders with my last MINI so can keep my handbook nice and tidy.

 

Peterg - you may already know this, but the MINI USA has owners' manuals to download as PDF files at the link below. The latest they have is the 2014 Mini Hatch (a.k.a. Hardtop), but no doubt that'll be updated. Couldn't find the same downloadable files at the UK site.

My car had an owner's manual in the glove box, then a couple weeks later a black nylon case for it was in my mail box.

 

As members have said the Mini no longer comes with this cover. Although after complaining to the dealer they gave two from old stock.
They have complained to mini that customers are disappointed not to receive a wallet with a so called premium product, they feel that after numerous complaints mini might change their minds but if they don't, they are considering ordering some with a dealership logo on the wallet to give instead.

No handbook or service book withour f54 just the warranty card!

 

My new Cooper (September 2016) came with a well made wallet, ie not just cheap plastic, for the handbook.

The sales person said there had been complaints so Mini decided to reinstate the proper wallet thingy.

Silly penny pinching not to supply it as standard.

 

I think i had better check with our dealer.we had nothing!

 

Mine came with a wallet of course you can always get an after market from " I say Ding Dong" if you want something a little larger.

Hi i am due too pick up my mini cooper s 2008 it has no service book I am old fashioned and I think it's a good selling point in having one all stamped and all the work that has been done in the book . For those who are great on doing things online which is my self. The dealer said he will sort it and get I it stamped and posted out too me . But he has too send it too three different places so I don't want too pay the remainder f the balance till this happens I have gave hm all deposit to secure the car a

 

Just read the op; r 56? These definitely all came with a handbook a service book to stamp in a nice little black and orange folder; early f series cars did-we have one for our 2018 JCW clubman so you really should have one or else it's missing and you need a chat with whoever sold you it-mind the dealer can simply read the key to check service history!!!!
