Cruise Control and Speed Limit failure message with External Device connected

Do the messages appear when you drive the car after having let the car sit unused for several days?

I ask because I have had 2 cars (and possibly a 3rd) manifest odd behavior from lack of use even with relatively new batteries. By odd behavior one car the +paddle would cause a down shift rather than an up shift. Upon engine start with a low battery -- but not that low the engine started promptly albeit with just a hint of slower than normal cranking -- the initial power drop would glitch the car's electronics. And odd behavior would be the result. The +paddle anomaly but also failure of an app to load or even a goofy looking LCD.

Turning the engine off even getting out of the car and locking it upon restart the untoward behavior was present. What "fixed" it was to drive the car more.

Even if you drive the car every day and for more than just a run to the corner market I note you have a 2017 and if it is on its original battery the battery is going on 6 years old. The battery can be suffering from age.

Well, then I'm at a loss. Hard to imagine a USB stick or phone can cause a problem that would have the car produce Cruise Control or Speed Limit Failure error messages.

Does the USB stick and phone work when connected to some other device other than your car?

Well, I'm at a loss.

Grasping at straws -- and frankly I don't hold out much hope this will help -- is change the connection time.

Unless the owners manual calls for these devices to be connected at specific times, if you plug in the USB stick/connect the phone before starting the engine do so after starting the engine. Or if you connect after starting the engine try connecting (at least plugging in) the stick and phone before starting the engine.

And on this same vein, change the order of which device you connect first. And in whatever order you use don't plug in the devices to close together. Plug in the 1st device, whichever one you choose to be first, then wait some time -- seconds -- then plug in the 2nd device.

Yeah, long shot the above will be of any help.

I've tried connecting after starting the engine, I've connected automatically with bluetooth at startup, I've tried connecting after driving several miles. All the same result. I get the first message appearing about 2 minutes after connecting.
I'll have to talk to the dealer again.
Thanks for your ideas, anyway.
Was at the last grasping at straws. Really the USB stick and phone should just work.
