The alarm on the Cooper decided to go off at 3am this morning and it got to the point where i could'nt switch it off for some time despite starting the car, opening doors and pressing fob buttons! So a few questions asked and a multimeter check later it seems like a new battery is required.
An independant specialist has told me that once a new battery is fitted, the car needs to 'coded' to recognise the new battery? Does anyone know if this is true, as ATS Euromaster say they have never needed to code anything and i can't say i have ever heard of it needed to be done either?
