Prices for the new F66 have rised significantly.
For the same equipment, the F66 is ~4000 euros higher than the F56.
For example, the F66 with Sport trim and XL package is +4000 Euros than the F56 with Sport trim and +1000 Euros than the JCW F56.
That's crazy!

my take on the new ranges , aimed at tech type 20 year olds , been in 5 different mini dealer ships lately , they all say the same thing , people and them don't like the new ones , the look , some materials , design and the biggest moan the 3 levels , big price jumps to get one thing you want , recon the new jcw hatch to the same spec as the current ones will be well over 40 k , if all 150 1 to 6 haven't gone yet don't see a 40k 3dr selling well

Its a TikTok car for a TikTok generation.
When we picked up the Clubman in November the guys in the dealership were laughing at the new models - they'd nicknamed the yellow one Sponge Bob I think.
I mean who needs an internal selfie camera?!?!
The resale market on the older models will be pretty good.

I've been loyal to Mini for 15 years now, but I'm not married to the brand. I'm french, and the the long awaited Renault R5, built in France, is scheduled for presentation to public in the end of the month. Could be an attracting alternative to Mini when time to switch for electric will come.
But I wouldn't like to be the Head of Mini Design. 90% negative or aggressive comments under every posts on the social media platforms.

Priced for old people
but marketed at the youthful
priced premium but looks like a cheaper Chinese product ( the not so funky cat )

sounds like recipe for selling online rather than to people who can see them in a showroom….

Hope im dead wrong on this, but trying to get a good marriage with the new electric versions and the old ice platform seems to me like a great idea on paper but sucks in reality, would make sense only if the electric car could be sold significantly cheaper. Seems that lot of tooling and potential cost savings from the current platform have been sacrificed in the name of a homogeneous product

Essentially BMW have paid for a cosmetic facelift and the car looks worse afterwards, the car is more expensive but I fail to see any added value apart from better Aero from the new windscreen rake.

A friend of mine just bought a used BMW and wanted to pay cash (from the same dealership group I got my Mini)
The dealer would only offer a good discount if it was bought on a finance deal.
He took out the finance and was going to pay it all off within the cooling off period.
Between BMWFS and another salesman it was suggested that, he kept £20 a month as the future sales model would be:

Fixed price across the country - no movement at all
Preferential finance deals for existing customers
Kind of like the Apple ecosystem model

So yes - 100% a buy online car

I like it,seems like just a development of the current car and the interior is great, mirroring the old first mini in the switched under the dial. But we're all different.nibhstecthe mustache of the f56 lci.

I see the mimicking of the genuine 1959 Mini. But it's not a cheap car like the old Mini was. The previous generations were mimicking their ancestor too with the chrome toggles under the speedo/sat nav, but in a more luxurious way as it turned into a premium brand.
Don't know if you seen the new electric Mini in the flesh, but these materials look very cheap, in my opinion.

MINi need to be careful this cars design has not been well received generally and now significantly more expensive as others have pointed out.

I guess we have to see and experience the car before really deciding if it’s worth buying.

As a JCW owner the new JCW 3door hatch ICE or Electric sounds like it’s going to be North of £40k sterling and more with a good specification.

These aren’t numbers associated with the MINI Brand Particularly for the 3door hatch !!
If price is anywhere near this then you are looking at a potential 20/25 % increase ,that’s crazy !

I hope I am Wrong !! 😑

I think the era when the F66 was concieved is over, manufacturers (Ford, Mercedes, GM) are realising that the rush to EV and larger, lower volume, high margin cars was premature. They all got rid of small, ICE vehicles from their line up.
People still want small, efficent, affordable small cars, and they want it en masse. I wonder if Mini in 18 - 24 months will respond to this change in the market and we might see a correction in prices, more so if the economy in Germany and the UK continues to do badly.

Having said that, I see massage, fully electic seats are now on the Mini 3 door line up? Who would've thunk that!

Imaginative Truth. Couldn't agree more , manufacturers happily ignore the challenging economy and prices go up with every new model.

Can the F66 really cost more to build than the F56 ?

Would be interesting to know manufacturers given margin Cost to Retail , there has to be a recognised number that the industry works to regardless of Manufacturer.

I spec'd a Cooper S Exclusive Level 2, with different wheels and it was just over £32k. That used to get you a nicely spec'd JCW. I then spec'd the same Cooper SE Exclusive Level 2 and it was just over £39k. A 7k rise for electric . Level 3 for each was another £2.5k!

If I'd have gone for the sport variant it would be over 40k, and into luxury car tax!

I think these models will suffer significantly more depreciation than the previous generation.

Makes you wonder how much the New F66 JCW is going to be ,now guessing £45k.

If anywhere close to that it would be a massive increase over the F56 JCW and I suspect will not be popular with current owners, plus no manual.

Got to say I passed the MINI dealership local to me last week and couldn’t be bothered to look at the new Cooper, says a lot coming from a life long MINI fan and Owner.

It is indeed, but each successor shows that BMW were targeting what they perceived to be the largest market for the car. It's fairly obvious with the J01/F66 they're going after techbros and first-timers who've seen a Tesla and reckon that's what an EV interior should resemble. I don't buy the line that it's a nod to the original BMC/BL/Rover Mini; an Austin Mini driver didn't need an e-sports pedigree to open a window or adjust the ventilation. If I must turn my attention away from the road to accomplish even the most basic task, it's anything but a simple, sensible interior – it just looks that way. And from all the reviews so far, the materials, fit, and finish do not merit such upscale pricing.

The amount of tech turns me off to be honest, which is one of the reasons why I fancied the R53 again. I hope you can turn off all the silly sounds and animations in the new one. It would get tiresome quickly. I like useful tech such as Bluetooth/Nav or CarPlay, but the digital assistant stuff is just distracting you from driving. I don't get in a car to plan my night out, translate random phrases into French or review my calendar for the week. MINI, please spend the money on the driving experience instead, or keep the price down.

Was at my local Mini dealership today and had a look at the new Minis. They certainly are getting very pricey. The F66 petrol looked best in black. Didn’t like the SE exterior shape. Interiors of both the petrol and electric were nice. The new Countryman is massive.

I agree with pilotwoo too much tech by far , the money should be spent on making the car as much fun as possible to drive lighter faster etc.

Hey isn’t that what we all want from MINI that’s what the brand was built on !!

I wonder if people in charge really understand what the car represents particularly the three door and the history, new cars seems to be just MINI marketing hype.

As for new Countryman it’s an awful looking effort.
