The Hankooks fittted from new on my 21 Cooper S are coming to the end of their life. I reckon I have a 1000 miles or so left in them on the front and a bit more at the back. They haven't impressed me. The car has only done 9,000 miles and hasn't had a particularly hard life. My previous car was an M2 comp and rears lasted 15,000 miles or more and they had a much harder life. In addition they are loud. Although I know the cars suffer with road noise in any case.
So what should I replace them with? Although I want decent rubber, they don't need to be the absolute whizz bang best - just because they are the most expensive and the new kid on the block. A good manufacturer with decent wet and dry grip, noise and life.
What's the general consensus please?
