You're probably going to get all types of different suggestions from everyone. Personally my base go to tire for everyday use and asshole driving is the Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 +.

I have ran touring tires, runflats, and normal cheap economy tires. These tires I find to be the best of everything. You don't sacrifice anything by getting these tires; road noise is quieter than my old touring tires(weird), ride is amazingly smooth with bumps not being sharp and painful as with runflats, gas mileage is still very good, and the tread wear is rated for about 40,000 miles if I remember correctly.

All of that plus the grip is incredible with these tires. I only find myself being able to spin them when I really try, my car makes 330lbft to the front wheel so... cornering is amazing, never felt a need for more grip. They are also amazing all season tires in general. Rain seems to not have much of an affect on grip and braking is still effortless while the roads are wet. Snow is where these all seasons do a lot better than most other performance all seasons. Not sure why, but if you drive smoothly and brake early you should have no issues with grip in the snow if you would like a tire you can run year round.
