Raceseng shift knob

one of the first things i changed out after picking up my 2017 jcw, was the manual shift knob. while the jcw knob looks great and elegant, it always felt very awkward in my hand. i was initially looking at the cravenspeed ones, but then found and glad i got a raceseng one (prolix-brushed). yes, they are pricey, but the quality and heft (very weighty) are incredible. this shifter weighs about 1.5 lbs. since i had the jcw shifter, the boot was to short, so i had to purchase the regular length boot to get this to work (was pretty easy popping out the old one and installing the replacement in the shifter ring). shifting now feels really good and love the look too. i definitely now want to swap out the shifter to a short-throw one for an even greater shifting experience.

That will be cold in winter :)

I have the JCW alcantars/carbon know which looks great but has a pistol type grip which too low down to hold properly so i just use the top which defeats the grip?

On older cars i always fitted a Mono race air leather round know which looked good and was very comfy - with the gaitor on the Mini it wouldn't look right fitting 1 to this car

that jcw carbon looks to be much better than the "stock" shifter knob (attached photo). which has an odd shape that doesn't feel good at all.
i live in ca, so getting "cold" is not so much of a problem as the knob getting hot, as i live in the valley area and it easily hits triple digits during these summer months. i've had billet shift knobs in the past so i'm aware of the very hot to the touch billet knobs after having my car sitting in the hot sun. not like "home alone" door knob scene hot (lol!) but definitely will startle you. no worries though, as my hands are pretty calloused so doesn't really hurt too much.
