Yes, definitely require pictures - I'm seriously considering swapping out the std poseurs wheels for something a little more aggressive, probably in gloss black.

 

When ordering after market wheels with non run flat tyres, what tyre size do you need with the JCW ? I know the runflats have a tendency to be a taller profile, so I can't take the tyre size from the existing wheels.

And, just as a thought, will 19's go on the JCW ? It could fill the arch without having to drop the car (but it may mess up the handling).

Now, I really like those, and SS tyres too, must have loads of grip !!

 

Love the look of those Speedlines! Have any 19" wheels come out that fit the JCW? The wheel arches are so big that it seems like a set of 19s that show off the monster calipers and a slightly lowered suspension would look great!

 

I would tend to agree with you on your assessment. I think lowering the F56 can look good or bad depending on the style wheels used, plus how much it is slammed. The wheel well openings on the F56 are huge (just like the front Brembo's!) and lowering the F56 "too much" doesn't compliment the car imo.

I'm fine with my stock sport suspension and 18" two-tone cup spokes, until some manufacturer makes wheels to fit the JCW "properly" without the need for spacers and other finegling of wheel sizes & offsets. 19" might work swell, since the F56's larger body style may be well suited to larger wheels....I can't see running runflats though with the obvious need for a thinner aspect ratio on the 19's.

Time will tell I suppose. MINI sure created challenges for us JCW owners when they designed those brakes! LOL!

BBS Wheels (Need help in Georgia, USA)

Anyone with an F56 JCW on this forum that lives near Braselton, GA (USA)? This is where BBS is located here in the USA.

I am working with a designer with BBS, and he would like to take some measurements for potential BBS wheel fitments for our MINI JCW's.

He tried the nearest MINI dealer, but as expected, they didn't have any JCW's in stock.

Just a thought....if anyone would care to let them take some measurements it could really help us JCW owners get BBS on board with us!

The most important measurement right off the bat is the distance between the wheel mounting surface on the disc to the outside of the Brembo caliper body (I'd take a measurement nearest the hub as it seems closest to the caliper there in stock form).

Let me know if anyone is interested in helping out, and I'll get you connected with BBS to coordinate.

Wrong side of the Atlantic , but my BBS RC fit fine, 7.5 ET 43, loads of air, too much even 215/45/17
Had to rebore to suit hubs, I guess et 50 would work with this style of wheel/spoke

Now you are talking Evlkarl. That is the exact Tii Turbo that I lusted after when I was in Germany in the 70s. Just couldn't stretch that far so had to settle on an ORDINARY Tii. Don't let John see it though:laugh:
I may be wrong but I seem to remember it wasn't sold in the States.

 

LOL! Love the 2002 Turbo! A friend of mine who used to own a BMW dealership had a Turbo, and when he sold off his collection (which also included an orange M1) he got a pretty penny for the Turbo as I recall. But, there are Turbos here in the states....most likely imported back in the day under grey market import regulations.

Honestly, a proper tuned tii is probably a better all round performer though!

As for wheels, the old style BBS wheels will always be "classic" in looks and great looking on vintage Bimmers! Just like the classic Minilites on Mini's!

If I could get a Minilite style wheel to fit my F56 JCW I'd jump at those, since I just think that look is so "Classic" and desirable on a MINI.

Hi all, I've been periodically visiting here to see what wheels f56 owners are going with. It still seems there are not that many options. Does anyone know if any BBS replicas are in the works? I think the car would look great with rs or lm style wheels.

 

The BBS LM wheel might be an option according to BBS but they need to test fit one on an actual JCW to be sure. I think the LM's would look absolutely stellar on a MINI JCW!

 

I agree the 8 Spoke look is a classical pick, but i wonder if they comes close a 8x17 5/115 66-Bore ET45

I had Pilot Super Sports on my last car (BMW M135) - thought they were superb! Gobs of dry grip in the corners and yet also very decent in the wet too. Glad to hear these are available in JCW size as well.

Finally I decide my-self for new sommer wheels. I did not want to go with spacers and wanted straight forward...

So I just got them today ! I had a very good price from Germany

 

Konig Oversteer 17X8 et45 with Goodyear Eagle F1 summer tires 215/45X17
It'll look better when I get the red calipers. Still trying to decide if I'm going with the NM springs or JCW Pro coil overs.
