I recently purchased a used 2009 Mini Cooper S. When the car starts, it shows the car on lift symbol and seems to be in limp mode. When I first purchased, I could restart the car and it would act normally. Now, the light is always on. Not only is the car in limp mode, but the power windows and the turn signals also do not work. Also, when the car is off and the key removed, the fog lights stay on, even if I did not have any lights on at all. This of course kills the battery. The car is throwing several codes, and I could see the limp mode being a result of that, but the fact that it is combined with these other issues makes me wonder if it might be a wiring issue instead? Any ideas or advice welcome. Thank you!

Sounds like the footwell module (FRM) has failed. Have you had a flat battery or jump started your Mini? We had the same faults with my daughters car a few years ago. Mini charge a small fortune for the repair. I found a place here in th UK advertising on ebay who could reprograme the module. May be worth you looking for a place near you who can reprograme yours.
