I think they must have changed the websites recently, I cannot seem to find the web location I downloaded the file (checked a few minutes ago), it only asked for last seven digits of VIN, which I have the file but cannot install.

Hello,

I just checked and downloaded the software update "UPD09041.bin" file for my soon to be mine MINI Cooper D and it worked just introducing the last 7 VIN caracters into the german or uk version of bmw software updates website (sorry can't post the links as i don't have 5 posts)

"After installing the software update in the vehicle,
the current software version will be displayed:
▷ TB 001.063.040 & MB 001.062.040 &
HB 001.062.032" from downloadable pdf update note file

Can't you write something as "www[dot]google[dot]com"?
I guess i might:

www [dot] bmw [dot] co [dot] uk/bmw-ownership/mobile/software-updates#gref

www [dot] bmw [dot] de/de/topics/faszination-bmw/connecteddrive/connecteddrive-services-offers/mobile-devices-update.html

I've tested with both sites and the result in termos of update file was the same.

i did this with mine a couple weeks back. Went from :
MN-003.003.001
TN-003.003.001

to:
MN-003.003.001
TN-003.225.080
HN-003.225.080

"MN" says Media, this hasn't updated at all. And now i have "HN" that i didn't before according to the before and after screen shots i took.

I still get the odd error message about device incompatibility on mi iPhone XS Plus. I'd love to get a media update if there is one for the Connect XL (2014 F56)

Been reading this thread with interest, our 2017 build Cooper S has an old version of the firmware (build 54), so I managed to download the latest bin file (in fact several times, UPD09041.BIN), when I try to upload into the car, it tells me file defective, I have tried formatting and reformatting the USB Stick into different formats, ie FAT, FAT32 NTFS, but no difference, any assistance on how to overcome this would be welcome, I have seen that overs have suffered this, but cannot find the remedy.
I get the same error on my 2015 with Mini Connected XL. I emailed Mini directly but got no where with it. I was hoping an update might allow my car to work with Android and use Spotify.

Just installed the new firmware also on my girlfriend's 2015 Cooper D. I've downloaded it from the uk site posted above. Here the result (before she had 001.040.xxx). In details appears "Apple iPhone".

I downloaded the software yesterday (using VIN code) but when inserting the USD stick in my mini I receive the message that the Software is not suited for my car.

I drive a 07-2014 Mini One

Can anyone help me? is my mini too old?

I don't think so. Mine is a 03-2014 Cooper S and I upgraded it.

Probably is a problem of USB format. Try different kind (exFat) and put the stick not only when the car is off but also when it is on. On my girlfriend's car it was reconized when I put it when she was driving (but for the upgrade you have to stop the car).

So you mean like format it as NTFS or FAT 32?

will try that as soon as possible. thank you!

I realy don't understand. used 5 different USB sticks... formatted as FAT32, NTFS and exfat.... and still the cars says: This software is not suitable for this vehicle...

Any other tips?
