Hi guys,

I have just recently bought 2018 Cooper S and wanted to contribute to this discussion:
The menu section on system update tells me that my current versions are:
MB-001.060.001
TB-001.060.001
It also informs me to go to www dot mini dot com/connectivity for more info and update. The website asks me for last 7 digits of my vin but whenever I input it, I get message that my car was not registered in currently selected country but I do not have option to change the country. I have tried to view this website on multiple computers, tablets and phones both at work and home.
I was able to find an update on BMW's website www dot bmw dot com/en/footer/software-updates dot html and downloaded file UPD09032.bin
I'm going to try to update my car this weekend, time permitting and will let you know how it turns out.

Cheers!

Hi everyone,

So I managed to update my system few days ago and been testing out to see what changed.

I went from version:

Media: MB-001.060.001
Telephone: TB-001.060.001
to version:
Media: MB-001.061.023
Telephone: TB-001.062.032
Add-on: HB-001.062.032
I used a flash drive format in NTFS and with only the update on it. Process itself was very quick and after the restart I was greeted with this cool new animation, here's the link:
www dot youtube dot com/watch?v = fcAQMDedCMM <== remove spaces and replace "Dot" with period

Other then that, I have not noticed any significant changes. Only thing that popped up at me is that I think that the tire pressure sensor seems to be more representative of what my tire pressure gauge shows.

Overall, not much got improve and so far I have not noticed anything breaking down.

Cheers!

I updated my '2017 mini cooper D system from Media: MB-001.058.001 & Telephone: TB-001.058.001 to version Media: MB-001.061.023 & Telephone: TB-001.062.032 & Add-on: HB-001.062.032.
Latest File downloaded from bmw website; Worked like a charm, thanks

Well apparently my greenness with the F56 and MINI Connected is showing because I can't find anywhere to try and download the files. I've gone to https://ssl.mini.com/connectivity/softwareupdate/index.html and it gives me a 404 Not Found Error, and when I try going to https://www.bmw.com/en/footer/software-updates.html and put in my VIN, it tells me the VIN can't be assigned to a BMW vehicle and to reference MINI instead. So where the heck are we supposed to go just to even check current versions and/or download the files?

I have a new 2018 Mini Cooper S hardtop 4 door, and get these same messages as agbullet25 when looking for an update. Current s/w is 001.060.001 from a 2/2018 build. Also interested if anyone has a recent source for any updates.

Been reading this thread with interest, our 2017 build Cooper S has an old version of the firmware (build 54), so I managed to download the latest bin file (in fact several times, UPD09041.BIN), when I try to upload into the car, it tells me file defective, I have tried formatting and reformatting the USB Stick into different formats, ie FAT, FAT32 NTFS, but no difference, any assistance on how to overcome this would be welcome, I have seen that overs have suffered this, but cannot find the remedy.

Im pretty certain the external HDD that i use for updating the nav and infotainment software is formatted in ExFat. I also had this issue but then found out on some BMW forum that it needs to be in ExFat. Hope this helps

Thanks ThunderPro, I have tried again with ExFat, though pretty sure I tried before still no joy, just as a sanity check, I have downloaded the file, copied to a USB stick formatted in all the variants possible, gone to update and get the defective file , am I missing something?

Extract it’s contents. If I remember rightly it can’t read it otherwise. By defective file I hope your not referring to an error message that comes up. If that’s the case I’m lost

Appreciate the responses, the file I am downloading is a .bin file, it does not appear to be a zipped file of any nature (unless you correct me), therefore I copied it straight to the USB stick and put it in the USB port, when I go in to settings and software update, that is when I get the message file defective, I have downloaded several times, the file size in each instance is identical and so I am at a loss?

Forgive me. I got confused thinking you were talking about nav updates (you must extract those). I have updated my system firmware twice now without issue so I’m at a loss as to what’s up with yours. My only suggestion is you try another source for your update. Clearly something about the file that the system doesn’t like

I see the Software update page mentioned at the start of this thread has moved to; https://www.bmw.com/en/footer/software-updates.html but our Oct 2018 Vin is not recognised, just get the error;
An error has occurred. Please try again later.
I've just put my VIN in and says i have to get it from mini but i cant get it from mini and it says to get it off BMW its stuck in a loop.
