I just bought a 2007 Mini Cooper 2dr-Hardtop Hatch. I haven't begun troubleshooting yet, but I figured I would get some thoughts from the forum before beginning to troubleshoot. Owner seems to think that the mini needs a new starter. Want to get your guy's opinions first as maybe some of you have experienced this first hand. When attempting to start my (manual transmission) mini there is no cranking, no clicking, just no noise whatsoever. Only light on the dash is to service vehicle with a vehicle icon. I checked the battery and it was receiving sufficient power - over 12.6 volts. I also read that it could be the key fab, but usually you would see a key icon, or a vehicle icon with a slash through it. Any pointers would help. I have ordered the starter already, but just trying to get some input before potentially installing the starter this weekend.
