Hey Everyone,

First time posting here.

My wife and I are considering getting a new 2025 Mini Cooper S 2-Door, it would be for her.

We live in Southern California.

We test drove a couple.

Overall, we like it.

As far as pricing and the current market (everything is expensive), do you all think getting a $1000 discount off of MSRP is decent?

I mean, I'm surprised they are discounting at all on the new model. Do you think we should try to push for more, I don't think they will budge.

APR on the loan is another killer at 4.99%.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks

They are offering another $500 off if you own certain car brands, Subaru being one of them.

I have a Subaru.

So, total discount is $1500 off of MSRP and they also have 1.99 APR for 48 months.

The payment of course would be much higher.

We would probably put 5K down.

But at 1.99% and 48 months, we would save almost 4K versus 4.99% at additional months.

Never had a car payment over $500 but if we can swing it for 4 years, we would save much more.

Or, put more down, that would help a little.

What you all think?

I was about to order a level 2 as I wanted the adaptive cruise, only to find out by luck that it doesn’t actually have adaptive cruise only the preparation to use it! If I wanted to pay for it it would be an additional £1250 subscription charge. At no point did the sales rep mention this. Apparently if you want to use adaptive cruise you have to buy level 3! Another £2,500. So many people won’t realise this. Mini’s adverting is very misleading.
Just about to order level 3 sport and will be getting confirmation there will be no additional subscription for life of the car

If dealers can throw in a 5 year service pack and mot for life for previous cars
I’m sure a subscription free existence cannot be a big ask…
Well after placing order today and discussing what level 3 actually gives you from day one, it looks like a cash grab exercise from Mini of £100 extra per year for all the fancy bits i.e. mini Connected Package [connected base is standard for all minis ], hopefully someone can prove me wrong, and you only have to start paying after the first 3 years of ownership.

kinda dulls the experience a bit if I'm right :(, however a short test drive put a bigger smile on my face than expected, current owner of a used 1.5t F56 for past 6 years and an M3 for past 7 from new, so was pleasantly surprised of the performance of the Cooper S, changed my colour from Nanuc to the Grey after seeing one in the flesh, too much iron fallout where I live and its a pain cleaning up partners brilliant white Fiesta

Well, we did it!

We got our 1st Mini.

2025 Cooper S 2 Door Hard Top Signature Plus Trim

MSRP: $35,895
Cash Price: $33,752.93
Discount: $2142.07

Available APR Financing of 1.99 at 48 Months

We went with that.

Big monthly payment but overall will end up paying less versus a longer loan term at 4.99%

Hopefully by adding a little extra every month, should have it paid off in about 3.5 years if I stay consistent.

Really nice car and as I said, our First Mini and German Car.

Even though it's not the Iconic Trim, it still has a lot of Tech.

Only mods that will be done is a Window Tint.

Car is for the wife so she doesn't need mods.

Let me know what you all think.

It is an absolute hoot to drive with the torque bump compared to the F56. Suspension is more enthusiast geared. DCT is smooth and quick. Good trim level too. iconic was not necessary when we looked. We have a R60, F57, and 2024 F60 so not in the market, but enjoying a fun test drive. Nice choice!

I feel the F56 was a little too expensive already, but, with that quirky & fun looking interior, performance, reliability, quality, and overall Mini-essence all over, it was worth it!

Now that I’ve seen the F66… I’m appalled! The exterior is nice (except for the rear). But the interior!? It’s hideous! Where did the Mini fun-looks go? No color lines? I don’t buy it that it is fun because it has a few projectors here and there for ambient lightning. And I certainly don’t buy the minimalism throwback to the classic Mini! That’s just brainwash for cost cutdown (which by the way, is not reflected in price).

The lock switch looks like an afterthought. The dull-collored polyester covering the dash & part of the door… that’s going to be a magnet for dust and stains! And all those decoration holes on the dash, will not be easy to keep clean either. The armrest could not look more ordinary, so does the front seat design.

To me, the F66 is an overpriced & poorly designed major facelift of the F56. I know every iteration of the new Mini creates controversy, but this F66 looks less Mini and more ordinary. It’s a fact, just look at the interior! A Yaris GR looks better.

I think Mini has lost its way in remaining true to the rebornt Mini. It’s all about profit, exploiting the Mini name, and selling more. So sad.

The F66 so far isn’t inspiring me either and i agree the interior is pretty average and I think the F56 is interior is better , MINI suggesting it’s an update of the original car is just cost cutting for sure.

Think the F66 JCW has got to be a big step forward for me or I will be hanging on to my F56, particularly given the anticipated price increase.

Don’t be so sure MINI have a habit over the years of making improvements with little or no information being released.

As an indicator the New F66 JCW Bulldog Racing just won its class in its first outing that’s almost unheard of in Motosport !!

Maybe there’s more to the car than previous reports suggest, not just a face lift.

Good news is it appears to be coming to Goodwood which is very soon now , hopefully someone on the Forum will be able to see the car in the flesh and let us all know more.

Our last jcw 3dr was tested as it seemed to go very well and was well above the 232bhp and the 1to6 is just as quick, makes a big difference when you get a good one
