Hi, I have an LCI with twin USB sockets, wireless charging etc but noticed the latest models have a USB and a USB-C socket. Has anyone retrofitted that panel yet?
No need to apologise at all! I was hoping someone on here might pick it up and would have more time to investigate! So just a little update on this. I bought the unit mentioned by @BLACKBIRD earlier in this thread (Sorry @BLACKBIRD)
Hey @Chrispy0813 , did you make this harness yourself or is it a BMW part? Could you link out/share where you got it from?So just a little update on this. I bought the unit mentioned by @BLACKBIRD earlier in this thread (Sorry @BLACKBIRD)

It’s basically a T Block adapter out to pins 1 & 2 for power on the USB C. As mentioned by @maaii pin 1 to power (centre pin) and pin 2 ground (outer pin). Then there is an extender to the existing 12v socket.
Removing the faceplate is pretty straight forward. And transferring my existing USB A to the one for this place was Just a case of unplugging. Getting access to the original plug on the back off the 12v adapter is pretty tough. I wish it would have been easier to have just removed it all together. I can see the reason that SCP wireless adapter have just moved it below. A lot easier to attach again. But after about 40 minutes wrestling with it managed to get it attached again.
It‘s worth noting. The t block is not a universal style fitting and doesn‘t just click together with the original BMW (I just picked one up at Halfords) So there was a bit of chopping to the Halfords one to get it to match up.

However once everything is attached I now have power over USB C and data and power over a USB A. I can’t see any reason not to use one of the USB C data/power units. Should just function as above. If it comes down to it I might change over.
The good thing with this is I can always rely on the original USB A connection if I need too.
So I made a harness myself with some spade connectors and the socket that came with the USB C block.Hey @Chrispy0813 , did you make this harness yourself or is it a BMW part? Could you link out/share where you got it from?
Would you be able to share the steps on how you made it? Or maybe I could send some money your way and you could make one for me? 😂So I made a harness myself with some spade connectors and the socket that came with the USB C block.
Was easy enough to do with my limited knowledge. I’m not sure of the exact parts. But I can check on the eBay listing.
Im not sure the quality would be amazing. 🥲Would you be able to share the steps on how you made it? Or maybe I could send some money your way and you could make one for me? 😂
I've sent you a DMIm not sure the quality would be amazing. 🥲
So basically you have the two cables that would be connected to the cigarette lighter. They are basically and extender, they are just two paddle and spade connectors.
Then the blue connector has 2 wires on those. Those then connect into those 2 wires on the 12v extender.
When I did it. I connected the spade connector to four wires. 1 set for the 12v and 1 set to the usb c power (blue one). It’s basically a Y shape. 🙂
Are there no usb C under arm rest, I have 2Hi, I have a 2020 countryman with one usb A and Aux In. There's a way to update to USB C? I will only need the #84108711939 or something else?
@Chrispy0813 any chance you can make another one and sell it? or can you take close up pictures of how the wiring should go so it can be copied please ?? and put links of the connectors used for this ?So just a little update on this.
