You need to change the whole headunit.

That looks really good, plus the £300 for the screen and surround is a bit of a bargain - I've been looking for a while but only seen examples with damaged screen for that kind of cash.

Can you let me know what coding was needed to get the screen to work and was it done on Bimmercode?

what sort of damage are you seeing? The one I bought had the anti-reflective coating coming off, but I just wiped it all off and found a matte screen protector online

Yes it is the anti-reflective coating looking patchy that put me off - was it easy to remove? Thanks for the heads u on the link, I read through it in the past but noted the coding wasn't done via Bimmercode, which I have. Thanks for your help with this, sounds like I can pick up a used screen and sort it myself.

 

yeah took me about 30 minutes or so with some anti-bacterial wipes

ah yeah I used BimmerCode, just followed the same steps in the expert mode!

it’s all in the head unit section.

HU_ENTRYNAV > EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE = "breites_display"

HU_ENTRYNAV > HMI > DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = "8.8_1280x480"

Then:

CID_DISPLAY_RES: 1280_480 [02]
CID_DISPLAY_SIZE: 8_8 [03]

The second two are only needed if you have a reversing camera!
