Just noticed that there seems to be difference between left and right hand drive or at least I think that's what it is. I, right hand drive, have the additional items on the right hand of the screen nearest the driver. In luftwaffels, who I guess has a left hand drive car in the Netherlands, has them on the left hand side. Wonder if that is set by Mini or Apple.

That is correct buddy, Side buttons depend on the the car being RHD/LHD.

It's set by the head unit.

I'm not sure if there is a way to code it.

i have an after market unit in my R60 and even though I'm LHD I coded it for RHD because it worked better with the screen.

I can confirm that full screen carplay will work with the latest firmware. Had it done in Vienna for roughly 130 Euros. All programmings have been reset, though, so you will need some time to reprogram what you had.
No news on the new menu look though, no idea where that is done. Maybe someone with a 2021 Mini could read the HeadUnit Codes and we find it there.

I am finally back in town with my car and I took it back to the dealership today. I told them it needs to be on at least 07.20.XX and showed them that my version is still showing 007.007.008.

They said they would take a look and redo it. They came back and told me they updated to the newer latest version but the head unit still displays the old version numbers. They claim that it is probably because my Navigation needs a Map Update for like $200.

Afterwards they reread the key fob and printed out a page that shows me that I am on I-Level - F056-20-11-545.

Could it be that I actually have the software update required for the Fullscreen CarPlay but my unit just isn't showing me that its been updated???

Does anyone know how I find what software I even have. I have a 2019 f55 with entrynav2 I think. It’s the base model. No touchscreen no nav. Can only find the screen with my. I called my local dealer, they said there were no retrofits or updates available for my car. Really want CarPlay. I wouldn’t even mind paying the dealer.

@ndal2 can do it here...at least if you have an nbt evo headunit. Entrynav2 units dealer can probably do that...

I’ll give an update too! I’m getting my car updated to the latest I-Level today while at the dealership for service. I’m going to try and see if this is something that can be easily enabled via Bimmercode once all updated, or if I still need to get it coded remotely.

Its just a small code change you have to do to set it back to splitscreen. Its like ppl dont want the union jack taillights, there is always a different breed [emoji3]

I have EVO, and on mine I can switch back and forth between full screen and split screen just by moving to the right. You can't?

Can help with remote HU Istep Firmware upgrades to the latest I-level, so you can enable Full screen Carplay yourself via Bimmercode or can do it for you on the same session via Esys. Flash of EntryNav2/EntryNavEvo takes about 20 mins, Battery charger recommended. All you need is an ENET cable and a Laptop with Strong WIFI connection.

Also can enable AppleCarplay on EntryNav2 with or without Navigation remotely via coding, provided that your headunit unit has WLAN Antenna or the WLAN port. PM for more info

Just wanted to let you know I had my software upgraded yesterday by Moozin to allow fullscreen Apple CarPlay and he did a wonderful job! All sorted and now my 2019 MINI 3 door hatch finally has Waze the way it was meant to be! Even managed to go round to his place to have the job done in person, so that I didn't have to invest in all the equipment needed. Very happy with the results! Can't recommend Mo enough - a lovely guy who is really passionate about his cars! If anybody wants to get that done too, send him a message. Thank you @moozin !

Hey everyone, to add to the previous post, Moozin has also helped me activate full screen CarPlay onto my car. Mine is a 2018 LCI JCW. Originally wasn’t doable until I got the dealership to update my firmware to what is stated below. I had a couple of minor connectivity issues on the original software version on my car so the dealership updated it free of charge under warranty! Really pleased with the outcome and with my service from Mo, if you’re looking to get it sorted I would defo give him a message on the forum

You would need to get software updated + Fullscreen activation.

I recently had annual service done and asked them to update the software for bluetooth connectivity issues, but they wouldn't do it since I couldn't replicate the problem (they just told me to reset my phone and try again). I'm still under warranty for another month, so trying to see what I can do in that time frame before doing it elsewhere.

The dealers don't update the iLevel, they update the iStep, so everything will be updated.The lowest update you need is for example.. F056-20-07-5XX if you own a F56, mine is F056-20-11-5XX and it works like a charm.
They updated mine because I complained about rebooting several times in a couple of weeks(not allways) and because I still have warranty they updated it for free
