So I ran cables from the footwell lighting up to one of the plugs as a trial and the panel illuminated.
I contacted the guy I bought the panel from and he has ordered me spare plugs from Germany as I didn’t want to cut the original plugs.
Don’t know the part numbers and will arrive in about a week but he said they should be correct as he contacted mini technical.
So if the plugs are correct that will be good news for pre lci models and just take the feed from the footwell lighting as that is how I will do it until someone figures out how to get power to the existing plugs on the lci models.
Slow progress but positive 😁

The part numbers I posted are for the plugs and pins just type in the part numbers to google and it will come up
You need 12 pins 4 for each plug and also 3 plugs and then you will need automotive cable to make up the harness I bought 0.5mm cable

I just tapped into the footwell lighting and it works fine
So all three plugs on the back of the panel are all identical for wiring? Just matching up where the wires are in the footwell light with corresponding Spots in each plug? Just asking to dumb it up for me because I don’t know why they would need three plugs in the back unless they all did something different or lit at different times for animation effects other than just color changing. You didn’t happen to take a picture of the new plugs and the corresponding wires did you? so each wire from Footwell plug will have three additional wires tapped off of them and leading to the three different plugs. Just want to make sure that each wire is going into the correct spot in the plug. Thanks

Hi tassy75
thanks for the info, going to contact your guy at chandlers and order the bits 😁 just one question are the plugs to go into the panel and did you just cut and splice in to the cables in the footwell?
Cheers

David

The 3 plugs are just to give it more brightness it still works if you only connect one plug
Just match the colours up there is 5 on footwell lighting and only 4 on panel plug

Well I’ll give it a shot. Because you can’t match the wires. The wires you tap off in the footwell you say there’s five (I haven’t looked yet) but the new plugs are only four. And you are buying the plugs empty, adding four pins to the plugs and your own wires. So you can’t just match them up. There would be no reference.

If you have the new model the plugs are there so you can copy them like I did as mine is 2019 model.
There is pictures I took of the plugs that I posted but they might not be clear enough and I don’t have anymore pictures

Ok sounds good. Mine is a 2018 so the plugs aren’t there. I will have to tap all three off the footwell one but didn’t know what wires to put where.

Hello everyone.
For F56 owners from 2014 to 2017: has anyone considered upgrading the passenger side dash trim to the union jack (with LED lighting)?
I thought of this possibility, but I can't find the part code to search the internet.
Has anyone done the adaptation? Does anyone know the code of the parts that are required?
Tks
vc conseguiu adaptar?

Any link to order the parts for left hand drive? And what else would I need for the connection? My model is 2017 cooper cabrio. Thanks
