I just bought my first Mini. It is a 2017 Mini Cooper D. I am a bit confused as there is the option of driving modes on the ring on the gearstick but nothing happens when I turn the ring. When I look on the middle display it says the drive mode is Green but there are no other options. Can you help? Thanks

I installed the driving modes myself on my Petrol S. See my signature for a link
If you have the switch on the gear stick, flicking it left should move green > mid > sport, flicking thought should move sport > mid > green.
If you're seeing nothing on the centre display, the animations may be disabled, check through the menus - not sure where that toggle is.
If the switch is on the start/stop bank of switches, it's on the far right where the HUD switch is on earlier models. 2017 I believe was the changeover year.
On mine the throttle response is noticeably sharper in sport.

My wife has a 2015 Cooper D. The drive modes should change throttle response and steering stiffness.
Green mode gives much less grunt on the loud pedal (unless you floor it).
Standard mode gives enough throttle response to spin the wheels.
Sports mode gives much more sensitive throttle and firmer steering.
On a long run Green mode can also give you a few more miles from a tank of fuel as it limits use of some of the electrics for things like A/C and heated seats.

However I see other options are available via my trip computer/info screen in the Rev counter, but the centre screen itself only previews the mode you have selected.
Green should give you a slower throttle response compared to Mid (default) mode, which I would of assumed all MINIs would have, but again not 100% sure on the Cooper D? Does the throttle feel less responsive when Green appears?
